Board Certified Behavior Analyst

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position involves providing and supervising Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in both clinical and home-based settings. The BCBA will formulate and implement treatment plans, conduct regular parent trainings and collaborate with team members to ensure effective implementation of the behavior plan.
 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the completion of behavioral assessments, short and long-term consultations and direct treatment planning

  • Confer with members of the direct support staff and other health team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate client information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans

  • Work with clients, families, caregivers, direct support staff, and the community to implement the client's treatment plan

  • Provide parent training, resources and guidance in behavioral interventions and the basics of ABA in order to support the client’s behavior plan.

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of the direct care staff to ensure proper implementation of treatment plan; provide training and guidance as needed

  • Function as an active member of the treatment team at meetings and supervisions

  • Review direct support staff documentation and data collection; provide feedback as needed

  • Complete necessary documenting (i.e. supervision summaries, program updates, overlaps, etc.)

  • Collect data for each goal/objective in a treatment plan to determine effectiveness of interventions

  • Initiate contact with new referrals and/or referral sources in a timely manner.

 

Required Experience

  • Experience in applied settings developing and implementing behavioral interventions and teaching programs

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or related field

  • BCBA/BCBA-D credential preferred; BCaBA acceptable under additional supervision

  • LABA or LAABA license or eligible for licensing

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable and consistent access to a vehicle

In-Home Therapist

The In-Home Therapist (IHT) will develop a meaningful therapeutic relationship with clients and their families and/or caregivers by providing personalized strategies to promote healthy behavior at home and in the community.

 

Responsibilities

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive home-based, behavioral health assessment inclusive of the age appropriate version of the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS)

  • Develop a treatment plan in collaboration with caregivers

  • Collaborate with other treatment and support providers to assure adherence to the treatment plan and coordinate care for the client and caregivers

  • Provide ongoing assessment of the client’s mental health status and risk factors

  • Review and modify the treatment plan as necessary

  • Provide team leadership and work collaboratively with all program staff around treatment issues

 

Counseling

  • Assist clients in improving ineffective patterns of interaction by gaining control over and insight into their behavior

  • Assist clients in finding areas of competency and develop their psycho-social skills

  • Work with families and caregivers to discover and build upon strengths in their parenting skills to provide improved support to the client, thereby stabilizing the client within the home

  • Provide families and/or caregivers with risk management and safety planning; create a crisis intervention plan

  • Identify and utilize community resources that support the client and caregivers’ growth

 

Required Experience

  • Master's Degree: MSW, MS, MA (i.e. counseling, psychology, special education) or higher from an accredited university/college.

  • One to two years minimum experience working with children, youth and families in a home or community setting preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable and consistent access to a vehicle

  • Experience working with children diagnosed with behavioral-emotional disorders or children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Candidates who can speak Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, or Cantonese are a plus!

In-Home Behavior Therapist

The In-Home Behavior Therapist (IHBT) will implement a behavioral assessment and develop a highly specific behavioral treatment plan in order to diminish, extinguish, or improve specific behaviors related to the client’s behavioral health condition(s). The IHBT will work closely with a Behavior Monitor who will help support the IHBT.


Responsibilities

  • Complete a functional behavioral assessment inclusive of the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS).

  • Provide in-home and in-community behavioral observations.

  • Develop an individualized focused behavior plan in collaboration with the client and their family/caregivers.

  • Supervise and coordinate interventions and training to address specific behavioral objectives or performance goals.

  • Analyze data/graphs to assess progress and determine if there is a need to modify current interventions and/or instructional methods.

  • Collaborate with other necessary individuals the youth and family may have contact with, such as Case Managers, Probation Officers, Judges, Teachers, Physicians, etc.

  • Attend IEP meetings, CPT meetings and any other meeting necessary to achieve the stated goals and objectives.

  • Complete and submit detailed progress notes that follow federal, state, and agency requirements.


Required Experience

Therapeutic Training  Support/Therapeutic Mentor

The Therapeutic Training and Support/Therapeutic Mentor (TT&S/TM) will work under the supervision of a licensed Clinician. The TT&S/TM will support the implementation of the Clinician’s treatment plan and work with clients and their family/caregivers to support in-home therapy goals to treat behavioral needs and improve the family/caregivers’ ability to provide effective support for the clients successful functioning in the home and community.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing initial and ongoing collaboration with family members, formal providers, natural supports, and others who can support sustainable progress.

  • Attend agency orientation and training on a yearly basis as required.

  • Attend weekly individual supervision with Clinician and monthly group supervisions.

  • Adhere to billing policies and only bill for services rendered and those that are billable according to specifications.

  • Flexibility with scheduling is necessary to meet the needs of our clients - afternoon/evening hours may be required.

 

Therapeutic Training and Support (TT&S):

  • Work with the Clinician to assess the client and family/caregiver’s mental health, strengths, needs and family patterns to create a family-focused treatment plan.

  • Provide training and assistance in building various coping, life, social, behavior, and emotional management skills to the client and their family/caregivers for the purpose of addressing daily living, social and communication needs.

  • Assist with implementing the therapeutic objectives of the treatment plan and assess the plan for effectiveness on an on-going basis.

  • Assist in developing and supporting an effective risk assessment and safety plan with the client and family/caregivers.

  • Make referrals to services and resources on behalf of the client and family/caregivers.

  • Assist the Clinician in creating a closure and aftercare plan.

 

Therapeutic Mentor:

  • Support and coach clients in developing age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation to reflect services provided ensuring all documentation complies with requirements.

  • Communicates with Managed Care Entities to ensure authorization for services provided.

 

Required Experience

  • One year minimum experience working with children, youth and families

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable and consistent access to a car

  • Experience working with children diagnosed with behavioral-emotional disorders or children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Behavior Specialist

The Behavior Specialist will implement the behavioral treatment plan, monitor behavior and report on the implementation of the treatment plan and progress toward behavioral objectives or performance goals.


Responsibilities

  • Implement the behavioral treatment plan and strategies using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to help clients socially and behaviorally

  • Model, coach and Guide caregivers on the implementation of the specific interventions prescribed by the Therapist

  • Document and report progress, collect behavior and skill acquisition data using data tracking and graphing

  • Assures that ongoing communication and collaboration occurs among all treatment team members and other necessary staff, as well as family members and other providers as appropriate.

 

Required Experience

  • One to two years minimum experience working with children, youth and families in a home or community setting preferred
